Jesus Pobre is a small, traditional Spanish village, typical of the Costa Blanca, about 10 Km inland from the fabulous beaches and nightlife of Javea and Denia. Nestling at the foot of the impressive Montgo Mountain, the residents of Jesus Pobre are hospitable and friendly, offering you a genuine insight into the Spanish way of life.
Jesus Pobre is the perfect destination for both family and golfing holidays, being close to the famous La Sella Golf Course and a short drive from the sea and golden beaches.
Jesus Pobre is just 15 minutes by car to the nearest beaches, and a few minutes walk to La Sella Golf Club. The village also has two nearby tennis clubs and two horse riding centres within a 10 minutes drive.
The village of Jesus Pobre has three bars, two bakeries, a bank and a variety of restaurants in around the centre. Weekly markets are popular throughout this part of Spain, and you can enjoy fiestas and fireworks all year round.
Jesus Pobre is a beautiful location in a safe rural area, whilst being close enough to the larger towns of Javea and Denia to be able enjoy a family day on the beach. Both Javea and Denia, both about 15 minutes by car from Jesus Pobre, have excellent shopping and a great selection of cafes and restaurants. And both have some of the best beaches in Spain, where all kinds of watersports are on offer.
The village is on the edge of the Montgo National Park, popular amongst mountain and hill walkers, and offering stunning views of the Costa Blanca. The Montgo Mountain is an area of outstanding natural beauty surrounded by orange groves. The Montgo area is dotted with whitewash villas and the sun sets spectacularly across Jesus Pobre.
The nearby La Sella Golf Club is a must is you are planning a golfing holiday in La Sella. La Sella was designed by Jose Marķa Olazabal in 1991, and the golf resort is one of the most important courses designed by the double champion of the Masters in Agusta. La Sella Golf Club is an 18-hole course, with 9 more under construction.
A wide and varied course located in a protected area, its design is appropriate for all levels of
players. The 6,289 metres golf course is known internationally for its excellent
playing conditions throughout the year, and has been played by the top names in
European golf. The course is surrounded by a Mediterranean eco-system of woods
and mountains and flanked by the Montgo Natural Park. From every corner of the
course you will see different species of olive, orange and almond trees, making
this course a golfer's paradise. La Sella Golf has been headquarters of the
Peugeot Circuit since 2007 and has hosted national team events and other big
events.
Alicante airport is approximately one hour away by car, and within a short drive the excellent motorway provides easy connection to nearby towns and the rest of Spain.
