Campoverde on the southern Costa Blanca, is a quiet, undeveloped Spanish village set amongst pine trees on wooded hillside. Campoverde is far enough inland to be aware from the busy Costa Blanca resorts of El Mojon, Mil Palmeras and Torre de la Horadada - but close enough to be able to enjoy them!
Pinar de Campoverde is the perfect holiday destination if you are seeking a quiet family vacation, and is popular with golfers because it is close to several important golf courses, including Villamartin and Las Ramblas.
Pinar de Campoverde on the Costa Blanca is a quiet, established Spanish village set on a wooded hillside, 8 kms inland with fine views to the Mediterranean Sea. Campoverde is less crowded than the more developed areas nearer Torrevieja, with mainly large detached villas.
The centre of Campoverde has a good variety of bars and restaurants offering a range of cuisines, a supermarket and banks etc, and a small street market on Sunday mornings selling fresh, locally grown produce.
Nearby is the famous Natural Area "Rio Seca", a (usually!) dry river bed in a spectacular gorge. The Rio Seco is the perfect place to enjoy a walk and the many species of flora and fauna, including several rare species of wild orchids and endangered varieties of dwarf palms.
Near Rio Seca is a huge 20,000 square metre sports complex with badminton, tennis courts, bowls, basketball, football and a large public swimming pool.
The nearby sandy beaches stretch for about 4kms from El Mojon to Mil Palmeras, including a small, pretty cove at Torre de la Horadada where there is also a Marina.
The nearest town is Pilar de la Horadada. Further to the south is the popular tourist area of the Mar Menor with some attractive resorts and beaches. To the north of Campoverde is the more busy Orihuela Costa area with many popular resorts including Cabo Roig, La Zenia, Campoamor, Playa Flamenca and Punta Prima. All these resorts have 'Blue Flag' beaches and a good range of facilities.
For lovers of golf there are several excellent golf courses near the village. Villamartin, Campoverde and Las Ramblas on the Orihuela Costa are particularly popular and towards Cartagena and Murcia there are several new courses and developments designed specially for golfers.
Campoverde is a peaceful holiday destination and it is easy to see why many choose to enjoy the wonderful Mediterranean climate with more than 300 sunny days per year, a low rainfall and extremely mild winters. And the hustle and bustle of the coastal holiday resorts is far enough away, but near enough to easily visit them.
The area is easily reached from both Murcia (San Javier) and Alicante airports - Murcia airport is about a 20 minute drive away and Alicante around 50 minutes.
