Costa Blanca Villas and Apartments
Apartments for rent and villas for rent in the Alicante area. Set at the mid-point of the Costa Blanca, Alicante is the provincial capital and the second most important city of the Valencian Autonomous Community. Alicante has all the advantages of a major city with excellent shopping, outstanding restaurants, museums, sports, a huge marina and an exciting nightlife. Yet Alicante has a relaxed atmosphere creating the perfect holiday environment.
Spain Villa rental has villas and apartments in locations all around Alicante, from Santa Pola, about 15 minutes drive to the south to El Campello, Mutxamel and Gran Mirador, about 13km north of Alicante.
Santa Pola
Santa Pola is situated about 15 minutes drive south-west of Alicante Airport on the Costa Blanca. It's a very Spanish resort, with most of the visitors being from Madrid, and a small number from Britain, France and elsewhere. English is not widely spoken. Santa Pola is a working port town, making the seafood a speciality in local restaurants. The major resort of Torrevieja, with its extensive shopping and night life, is a short drive to the south.
The town is centred on the Castle and Square (Glorieta) where the children play in early evening. There are a wide range of shops, bars, and restaurants on the square and the seafront.
El Campello
This friendly and relaxing town has resisted the lure of mass tourism and with its unpretentious air,
is perfect for couples and families alike. With miles of wide sandy white beach, a pretty fishing harbour,
views of the mountains and a wide selection of friendly restaurants and bars, you have all the advantages
of a small, peaceful, relaxing resort but with the night-life of Alicante and Benidorm within easy reach.
Its elevated position affords the town with spectacular views of the numerous sandy beaches along this part of the coast. The town and its surroundings enjoy a wonderful Mediterranean climate with
lovely hot summers and sunny mild winters, the rainfall is low and occurs mostly during the winter months.
This area has a history and a charm all of its own. The Spanish families
still live in small brightly-coloured seafront houses, that were once fishermen's homes.
There are remains of ancient temples celebrating the Gods of the seas, and a watchtower built
in the 16th century to warn of attacks from Berber pirates who ravaged this coast.
